Therapy
Cedar View Counseling provides individual, family, and couples counseling in Cedar City, Utah tailored to your specific needs. We specialize in therapy for depression, anxiety, OCD, scrupulosity, perfectionism, trauma, low self worth, suicidality, social deficits, ADHD, and relationship distress.
Modalities used most often are Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR), and Structural Family Therapy.
Social Skills Group
Making and keeping friends can be difficult for teens, especially for those on the Autism Spectrum, and those who are more prone to anxiety. This therapy group is focused on the skills and confidence needed to make and keep friends, as well as supporting each other as we learn and stumble upwards together. This group therapy can help teenagers overcome anxiety and social struggles.

Anxiety and depression in kids and teens is on the rise. If your child has had a big life event, struggles to make or keep friends, is very hard on themself and terrified of making mistakes, or lashes out often, possibly due to not knowing what to do with their big feelings, reach out, and I would be happy to consult with you!
If your child mentions wanting to hurt or kill themself, or has engaged in self-harm, please reach out. The coping skills, stress management, and emotional regulation your child or teenager need are only a call away. -
We want therapy to be beneficial to you. As such, at our first session we will set goals and use these as a measuring stick. We also use assessments regularly to monitor the client’s progress. This keeps us on track, and holds the therapist and client accountable to each other.

ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy): Learning to accept our thoughts and emotions and becoming the drivers in our own life by making choices based on what matters to us.
CBT (Cognitive and Behavioral Therapy): Identifying and changing negative thought patters and behaviors, allowing us to take control of our lives.
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing): A trauma therapy that allows us to process past traumatic experiences and get unstuck from self-destructive patterns.
